September promises to be FULL of FUN for Valley County Pickleball:
A FREE Beginners Lesson will be held September 5th at Aspen, from 6pm – 7:30pm. The lesson will cover the basics of the game including scoring, dinking, serving and returning. Loaner paddles available. To register, contact Hope Ayres at 208-724-6188.
The VCPC Annual Fall Picnic and Play will be held on Saturday September 9th at 10am – 2pm at Woodlands (630 Brady Dr. McCall). Family members and Sister Club members are welcome! The club will provide Burgers, Dogs and condiments. Please bring a side dish or desert to share potluck.
We are in the process of finalizing contracts and expect construction of the 9 new courts complex at Lake Fork will begin soon. Instead of a traditional groundbreaking, we will be having a project kick-off celebration at Shiloh Gym at 10am on Sept. 14th to recognize all the donors and persons that made the project possible. Everyone is invited! Courts completion date will depend on weather – it’s likely the grand opening will be next year.
Last year, VCPC members voted to adopt 2 miles of I-55 at Lake Fork and keep it clear of trash. Volunteers are now needed to help with the fall highway clean-up the morning of Thursday September 28th. Text or call Marcia Reed to volunteer and get more details (503-314-4420)
