Hi Everyone,
Here’s some information about some upcoming activities from Valley County Pickleball Club:
See you on the court
Laurie

Pickleball events and projects are only successful only due to the many volunteers that love pickleball and are interested in helping to grow the sport, (and have some fun while at it!).  We have a few Volunteer opportunities to share:
1.    Cascade CAP Program Pickleball Lessons.  Our Club has been asked to teach the Cascade CAP program kids how to play pickleball.   This will take place on the two pickleball courts near the Legion Hall in Cascade, during their summer camp June 22-30.  It will likely be 2-3 hours on 3-4 days during that period – details are being firmed up soon.   The CAP program is run funded through a grant from 21st Century Community Learning.  This is a great opportunity to help to grow the sport of pickleball with the youth that live in our own area.  If you are interested in helping,  please contact Evelyn at 775-291-6880, or [email protected]
2.    Lake Fork Pickleball Grounds Clean Up Day, Tuesday June 15th:  The land that the County has dedicated for our new 8 court pickleball courts complex is located at 50 East Lake Fork Road.   There is a lot of dead forestry material and stumps in the area our courts will be built.  Your help is needed to clean up the slash in prep for land survey and eventual excavation (and I’m sure it will turn into a social event after!).  Hope Ayres is organizing this event, and will announce more details at our June 12th event.
3.   The Pacific Northwest Regional Pickleball Championships will be held June 22-27th, at Settlers Park in Meridian, and Hobble Creek Park in Boise.  This is a huge event, and volunteers are needed for off-court help such as set up, parking guides, grounds crew, vendor support, tear down and more.  Attached is a flyer for volunteers.   If you are able to help even if only a few hours on one day, please contact the director of volunteers for Pacific NW Region, Darla Sautter:   [email protected]    509-312-9339   (and get a free t-shirt!)
Thanks for considering these volunteer opportunities,
We hope to see you at our “welcome to summer” annual social event on June 12th at Shiloh.   Open play starts at 9am, picnic at 11:30, annual club meeting at noon, and round robin tournament at 1pm.
Thank You,
Evelyn Banfield,
